We are pleased to partner with the Chicago Literary Hall of Fame to present the 2011 Induction Ceremony on Tuesday, November 15. You’re invited to celebrate Chicago’s spectacular literary heritage beginning at 6 PM in the Cindy Pritzker Pavilion at Harold Washington Library Center as host Rick Kogan pays tribute to six incredible writers.
The class of 2011 inductees are Cyrus Colter, Theodore Dreiser, Harriet Monroe, Mike Royko, Carl Sandburg and Ida B. Wells.
The distinguished lineup of presenters and participants includes Paul Durica, Reginald Gibbons, Mary Mitchell, Sterling Plumpp, Donna Seaman and Marc Smith. Several inductee family representatives including Tedi Dreiser Godard (Theodore’s grandniece), David Royko (Mike’s son), Donald Duster (Wells’ grandson) and Harriet Monroe Fetcher Johnson (Harriet’s great grandniece) will be on hand to receive the honors.
We’re also looking forward to an inspired tribute performance from the Dance Foundation Company Chicago.
Registration for the Chicago Literary Hall of Fame’s 2011 Induction Ceremony is free and required. To RSVP and for more information, visit chicagopubliclibraryevents.eventbrite.com or call 312.747.8184.
