Livre Échange Tree Library - Saint-Étienne, France

Via Design TAXI:

‘Livre Échange’ or ‘Book Exchange’ is a ‘free bookshop’ that lets passers-by exchange books. Unveiled for the International Design Biennial 2013 in Saint-Étienne, France, by designer Didier Muller—the installation consists of huts suspended from trees that contain a book each.

Passers-by are encouraged to take the book within the hut, and deposit a book they have.

Library Slide By Moon Hoon

via Colossal:

Architect Moon Hoon recently designed the Panorama House (scroll down), in Chungcheongbuk-do, South Korea. One of the most unique features incorporated into the home is a wooden slide built directly into a library which also functions as a stair-stepped home theater seating area.

Library Scented Candle

From Etsy:

A cozy blend of wood and earthy tones make it easy to imagine yourself curled up with a book or peering through shelves of wonderment in the Oxford Library! This is a completely original scent- I’ve mixed a variety of natural fragrance oils to create it. I have been making candles for years for myself, and decided to list them on etsy.

Oxford Library is made up of several fragrances: Oakmoss & Amber, Sandalwood and hints of tobacco and leather. This is perhaps a “fresher scent,” whereas my other library scent: Dumbledore’s Office, has a woodier aroma. A customer described Oxford Library as smelling like a “Freshly showered Sherlock Holmes.”
