Il Bibliomotocarro - Basilicata, Italy

From Green Generation (Translated)

Bibliomotocarro is a traveling library that brings books every Saturday in the villages of Basilicata. There are about 700 books that the bike has bee; eight stops, with appropriate signs and times in which children between eight and twelve years old can borrow books.

Antonio - an elementary school teacher for 42 years, has filled books and called Biblio bike bandwagon. Every week we turn the villages of Basilicata and you announce by the sound of an organ. In the squares await the children. “They borrow books - told Antonio - and sit on a step to browse. It creates a magical atmosphere. “Before leaving, he opened his own White Paper: Children write to us whatever they want, stories or personal narratives. “When I return it, the book falls into the hands of other children who continue the story or write about others. And they are always wonderful stories. ” Each month Antonio travels about 500 kilometers, and transmit to children the passion for reading.
